Hospital Facilities

Hospital services are provided by Conway Medical Center, Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Seacoast Medical Center, South Strand Medical Center, and Loris Community Hospital.

Ambulance Services

Horry County Emergency Service (EMS) provides basic and advanced life support services including transportation to the three local hospitals in the County.

The entire County is serviced by an Enhanced 911 system. Horry County Fire/Rescue has 36 fire and rescue stations throughout the County. Each team consists of at least a paramedic and an EMT. There are 67 paramedics and 181 EMTs employed by EMS.

There are eight (8) volunteer rescue squads within the County that assist EMS when necessary and all eight have EMTs and some paramedics. All of the local fire departments utilize first-responder programs.

    2. Inspects and issues permits for the following:
      1. Restaurants
      2. Mobile food Venders
      3. School cafeterias
      4. Temporary Food Events
      5. Meat transportation Trucks
  10. Environmental Health
    1. Monitors the following:
      1. Campgrounds.
      2. Hotels
    2. Site Evaluations for septic tank permits
    3. Private well testing
    4. Environmental Complaints
